Needs From: Girl Scouts North East Ohio

Cadette Summit is a the weekend of May 14 to 16 at Camp Ledgewood.  Check in for weekend volunteers is Friday May 14 from 4 to 6:30 PM with Cadette arriving starting at 7 PM. Specific volunteer role information will be shared by the Volunteer Coordinator for the weekend. The registration link will be shared when registration opens.  For more information check out the webpage and adult volunteer packet. To volunteer for the weekend it costs $25 which includes an event t-shirt, meals Saturday and Sunday.  To volunteer for just one day its cost $10 which includes an event t-shirt and one meal.

Come volunteer with our youngest members. Expereince camp through their eyes. This will be a day of games, songs, and crafts.

Volunteer to help with this high school only weekend at Camp Timberlane.  There will be crafts, target sports, rock climbing, boating, low ropes, and plenty of time for the girls to relax. This event is planned to allow high school Girl Scouts the opportunity to experience camp without the responsibilities that they normally have when assisting younger Girl Scouts. This weekend is all about them! 

You will serve as an air rifle instructor for this event. You will be responsible to work as a team to cover safety basics, parts of a gun, eye dominance, breath control, and trigger control. You will help adjust the girls positioning and posture while they are shooting and help maintain range safety. 

Take aim at the archery range! Learn the parts of a bow and arrow, proper archery stance, shooting techniques, rules, and safety. Then, it'll be time to put your new skills to work. More experienced archers may have time for games or a tournament. Please dress for the outdoors. Program runs rain or shine. Participants and chaperones are required to follow safety procedures upon arriving at camp. More details about this will be included in the registration confirmation email.

Join us on September 12 at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo for Girl Scout Day at the Zoo! Volunteers are needed to help with the craft station and photobooths in various locations around the zoo. Included is a $5 food voucher. PA and LIA volunteers welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.

Inclement Weather Plan: Girl Scout Day at the Zoo will happen rain or shine, so come prepared. Photobooths are under tents and the craft station will be located in the Palava Hut.

As an Archery Program Facilitator (Level I), you’ll teach basic archery skills to Girl Scouts during special “Hit the Target” programs. You’ll help girls learn how to shoot safely, cheer them on, and make sure everyone has fun at camp! You’ll be certified by USA Archery and work with girls who may be trying archery for the very first time.

As a Low Ropes Program Facilitator, you’ll lead fun, hands-on team challenges on our low ropes courses at Girl Scout camps. Girls work together to climb, balance, and solve problems using ropes, cables, and wooden beams—while you help guide them safely and encourage teamwork and communication.

As a Canoe Program Facilitator, you’ll lead fun canoeing programs for Girl Scouts in 4th grade and up at our camp properties. You’ll teach basic paddling skills, keep everyone safe, and help girls work together as a team on calm, flat water.

Train the trainers in archery! Archery Instructors hold a Level II Certification with USA Archery, qualifying them to teach and certify other adults. We train and certify instructors through USA Archery.

Train the trainers in canoeing! Canoe Instructors hold a Level II Certification, qualifying them to teach and certify other adult facilitators. Through this training, facilitators gain the skills to lead canoeing activities that teach girls discipline, control, teamwork, and outdoor awareness.

An Adult Learning Trainer help teach and support other volunteers. This helps volunteers feel ready and confident in their Girl Scout roles. You might lead classes in person or help them with what they learned online. Your job is to guide, cheer on, and inspire other volunteers as they grow in Girl Scouts.

As an Astronomy Program Facilitator, you’ll lead fun and hands-on space programs for Girl Scouts! You’ll help girls of all ages learn about the night sky and earn their Space Badges. You will use telescopes, binoculars, and our observatories at Sugarbush and Timberlane.

Join us for a day of hands-on learning and fun! Help North-East Ohio students explore life skills, STEM, arts and crafts and more with hands-on, fun learning experiences! Students will range from grades K- 12. You may also lend a hand with event coordination tasks like check-in, organization, and clean-up.

No experience or training necessary. There will always be a DreamLab staff person or subject expert running the program, but the more helping hands, the better.  

Weekend program volunteer shifts run on Saturdays and Sundays between 9am and 4pm. Separate programs run in the morning and in the afternoon so if you are available half days that works as well - just let us know!

Students will range from grades K- 12. You may also lend a hand with event coordination tasks like check-in, organization, and clean-up.

No experience or training necessary. There will always be a STEM Staff person running the program, but the more helping hands the better.

No expertise or training necessary.  There will always be a STEM staff member present for STEM programs, but an extra set of hands is always nice!

Support girls and students in hands-on STEM fun! Assist with counsel-led Girl Scout programs or field trips featuring activities like 3D printing, robotics, telescopes, woodworking, water testing, dissections, and more.

As a Range Safety Officer (RSO), you’ll make sure everything runs safely during air rifle shooting programs for Girl Scouts. You’ll work alongside the instructor to set up the range, lead safety briefings, and supervise girls while they practice shooting. This role is certified by the NRA and helps girls build focus, confidence, and respect for safety.

Submit your active troop and service unit hours, this includes (but is not limited to) time in troop meetings and attending events and activities. Please follow the steps below to submit your hours. 

1) Respond 'Yes' or Register to 'attend' this need

3) Click Track Hours

4) Scroll to 'Hours Type'. Select 'Yes' then select this need from the drop down list. 

5) Under 'Hours Details' choose any date (if submitting weekly hours choose a date from within the week you are submitting, if submitting monthly hours choose a date from within the month you are submitting).

6) Enter your active volunteer hours

7) Click 'Submit Hours Entry'. This will submit the hours for approval. Approval check should be completed within 3-4 business days.
